Lanner Foundation of Culture and Education has made a series of diverse initiatives to encourage primary school kids in Xizhi who have limited access to educational resources, to explore their interests and develop their self well-beings. With the determination to further serve the public, Lanner Foundation held the first “Mustang Junior Basketball Summer Camp” in July, 2018. Fifteen primary school kids from Bei-Gang Elementary School, Xizhi, were receiving professional basketball training from coaches MJBA (Mustang Junior Basketball Association). Under the dynamic coaching, the students realized the power and grace of basketball. At the same time, the foundation worked with the Xizhi branch of the Presbyterian Church to set up the first “Lanner Junior Hawks IT Learning Camp”.

“Lanner is always dedicated in helping the public. This time, we have the opportunity to work with MJBA from July 2nd to July 6th to offer fundamental basketball training for students in Bei-Gang Elementary School, where educational resources are limited. We’d like to improve their interests and skills in basketball”, said Zhen-Wei, Yang, Chairman of Lanner Foundation of Culture and Education.
Mustang Junior Basketball Summer Camp was held in the recently built basketball court at Bei-Gang Elementary School. The two coaches from MJBA demonstrated patience and expertise in their basketball coaching, and the students were highly encouraged and enthusiastic in learning the fundamental basketball skills. When the 5-day training was near the end, several students approached the coaches and wished that they could come again after the school reopens. They have shown great interests in learning more basketball.
Meanwhile, Lanner Foundation collaborated with the Xizhi branch of the Presbyterian Church to set up a 4-week “Lanner Junior Hawks IT Learning Group”. Lanner staff volunteered in the event to provide in-depth, while easy-to-understand lessons. Beside the IT hands-on courses, board games were also part of the courses so that the students had learned teamwork through a series of activities.
