Current rail safety practices rely on contact-based obstacle detection for intrusion protection, but this technology lacks long-distance and early warning capabilities. Lanner tackles this challenge with the EAI-R530, a specialized AI smart monitoring computer designed for railway trains. EAI-R530, leverages the power of onboard AI accelerators to process data at the edge. By analyzing information from sensors, cameras, and other sources locally, these edge AI appliances can enable a wide range of intelligent video analytics for transport, such as fleet autonomous driving, bus intelligent surveillance, and rail collision avoidance.
The EAI-R530 boasts a robust hardware configuration, featuring the 13th generation Intel® Core processor with low power consumption (15W) and superior computing performance. Equipped with a built-in Hailo-8™ AI acceleration chip, it supports the simultaneous use of NVIDIA-embedded MXM acceleration computing cards and offers 5G connectivity. This allows for the activation of six 5G signals and one Wi-Fi signal for AP sharing, significantly expanding its versatility across various application scenarios.
The EAI-R530 is certified for railway transportation, complies with military standards (MIL-STD-810G) for earthquake resistance and shock resistance, and has passed certifications for train carriages (EN50155, EN50121-3-2), railway infrastructure (EN50121-4), signal and communication equipment (EN50125-3), fire resistance (EN45545-2), insulation (EN50124-1), and vibration and shock (EN61373). The system incorporates shock-resistant M12 connectors for both power and network cables, ensuring stability and preventing detachment. The detachable wireless module and storage device support hot-swapping with locks for administrator permissions, streamlining installation and maintenance while enabling rapid data backup for enhanced security.
