Lanner Electronics Inc., the global leading supplier in network communication platforms, today announced its partnership with innovative provider of open and fully interoperable Layer 1, 2 and 3 solutions, Ekinops, to develop a highly flexible universal customer premise equipment (uCPE). The partnership enables Lanner x86 network server NCA-4010 to be pre-validated with Ekinops’ Open Virtualization Platform (OVP), addressing the new challenges for communication service providers (CSPs) in the age of virtualization with a consolidated, cost-effective, and NFV-ready uCPE for PaaS (Platform as a Service) and SD-WAN deployments.

The 5th Generation mobile networks, known as 5G, come with the biggest transformation in network architecture with high bandwidth, ultra-latency and service agility, to encourage massive IoT communications and multi-access edge computing. Featuring next-generation performance, virtualization optimized throughputs and hardware-assisted security, the Intel® Xeon® Scalable Processor (codenamed Skylake SP) is the platform to help empower the network transformation in SD-WAN, vCPE, NFV and 5G.

The digital transformation has driven distributed enterprises to adopt cloud data centers and SaaS (Software as a Service) to improve serviceability, and thus SD-WAN has become the ultimate solution to optimize branch office connectivity as more and more cloud applications are used.

At this joyful time of the year and as the new is coming, we would like to take this opportunity to express our gratefulness for your continued business and also for the opportunity to serve as your ODM/OEM partner. As your trusted hardware solution providers for the past three decades, Lanner will always be dedicated to offering highly reliable and scalable network platforms to accelerate your time-to-market solutions.

ELKO, a leading distributor of IT products and household appliances, organized the first ELKO Telecom & Infosecurity Forum 2018. The event brought together leaders of the information security industry, telecommunication companies, and leading manufacturers including Intel, Crucial/Micron and Lanner, as well as partners and system integrators. Major technological trends addressed in the forum covered cybersecurity, SDN/NFV and 5G.

The trend of cloud computing presents an opportunity to replace physical CPE (customer premises equipment) with virtualized, software-defined CPE, in order to establish flexible branch-to-cloud connections. Over the past few years in the industry, many enterprises have implemented virtual branch network by focusing on virtualized network services. In other words, virtual machines are replacing physical equipment to assure branch network connectivity while saving on hardware costs.

F.A.S.T. solutions are Lanner's purpose-built modular kits developed for enhancing Lanner’s high-end network computing appliances. These multi-functional modular kits come in the N2S, the N3S or the NCS2 form factor and deliver flexibility, adaptability, scalability and transformability for all compatible appliances’ connectivity, storage and open compute capabilities.
