The growth of OTT (Over-the-Top) has greatly impacted the ecosystem of TV broadcasting ecosystem, due to the diversified demands of multi-screen video content consumption, wide use of mobile viewing gadgets and changes in CDN (content delivery network). Since the beginning of the digitalization era, OTT has become the mainstream service that broadcasting operators all over the world are striving to provide to their subscribers. Therefore, they realize that the success of OTT lies in the encoding, decoding and transcoding capability in order to support multi-format viewing on various devices.

Today ship managers are facing several paradigm shifts in their industry caused by major technological changes. First, the pace of digitalization in the cruise industry has evolved far more advanced than expected. Secondly, seafarers demand to stay connected to the world at all times. Thirdly, global regulations by EU and IMO also require ships to record and keep track of transmitted data and the electronic data must be updated regularly.

Nowadays vehicles are equipped with subsystems that are digitalized and connected, and thus transportation companies are seeking intelligent and innovative solutions to meet new demands from consumers. For instance, digital payment is implemented in cabs for the convenience of tourists, and in fact they can pay the fare electronically through the App of transport service providers.

Nowadays, network operators have faced unprecedented growth in data traffic since the introduction of smartphones and tablets, and they have to accommodate the service demands and expand their bandwidth in the ever-increasing competition, causing profitability to dry up. Thus, the concept of CORD (Central Office Re-architected as a Datacenter) was mainly introduced for economic and agility purposes.

Maintaining the network availability has been the top priority for enterprises worldwide, as virus attacks have intensified in size, frequency and complexity. In fact, service providers have been unprecedentedly sensitive for their network protection since the first incident of DDoS attacks, which cause Internet outage and severe damage to the serviceability of network infrastructure of the victimized service providers, namely GitHub and Sony.
