Today see the release of Lanner’s VP-200, a fanless desktop network security platform based on NXP Layerscape® LS1046A processor.

The VP-200 is equipped with six SMA connectors and its performance is supercharged with NXP Layerscape® LS1046A processor that features quad 64-bit Arm® Cortex®-A72 cores with packet processing acceleration.

NXP Layerscape® LS1046A processor, according to NXP, extends “performance to the smallest form factor, from power-constrained networking and industrial applications to new virtualized networks and embedded systems requiring an advanced data path and network peripheral interfaces.” Lanner’s VP-200 measures 231 mm (W) x 44 mm (H) x 200 mm (D).

For wireless connectivity, the VP-200 comes with four SMA connectors for LTE/5G and another two for WiFi, making it one of Lanner’s 5G-ready edge computing platforms.

For networking communications, the VP-200 offers dual SFP/RJ45 GbE combo ports and four additional RJ45 GbE ports.

For expansion, the VP-200 delivers one mini-PCIe, one M.2 and dual nano SIM slots.

Other features include one RJ45 console port, one USB 3.0, up to 32GB DDR4 2100MHz memory and optional support for two POE+ ports using a POE+ add-on card.
