Lanner today released the N2S-PCIE16X13A and the N2S-PCIE16X12A, two single-slot PCIe carriers for HHHL/FHHL Gen5 And Gen4 PCIe*16 cards respectively.

These carriers are simple and cost-effective solutions for integrating PCIe cards into Lanner’s compatible network appliances, expanding these appliances’ capabilities by making available features such as WiFi, GPS, Bluetooth, CAN Bus and/or Serial Interfaces.

The N2S-PCIE16X12A facilities PCIe 4.0 standard that offers 16 GT/s data transfer rate for enterprise-grade servers; the N2S-PCIE16X13A, on the other hand, enables PCIe 5.0 standard that brings not only 32 GT/s data transfer rate but also improved signal integrity and backward-compatibility for high-performance computing scenarios that require the most throughput, such as GPUs for AI workloads and industrial networking applications.

Both PCIe 5.0 and 4.0 standards deliver more flexibility for peripheral devices and hardware configurations. The availability of PCIe 5.0 support does ensure not only better integration with more cutting-edge SSDs/GPUs but also a more direct connection to the CPU, potentially reducing latency.
