Lanner today announced the addition of the NCS2-IHM204 to its F.A.S.T. selection of NIC modules. NCS2-IHM204A comes with two 100GbE QSFP28 ports and is driven by Intel E810-CAM2 Ethernet controller while the NCS2-IHM204B, powered by Intel E810-CAM1, is equipped with one 100GbE QSFP28 port.

According to Intel, the 800 Series (Codenamed Columbiaville) enables throughput and delivers different network capacities demanded by enterprise, communications and Cloud applications/services; such demands, according to Intel, include “broad physical interfaces support, thorough test and validation with ecosystem devices for compatibility,” “enhanced DPDK for NFV acceleration, advanced packet forwarding and highly effective packet processing efficiency.”

In other words, the NCS2-IHM204 makes available 100Gb/s Ethernet connectivity, speedy packet rates and almost zero latency performance, making it the ideal solution for optimizing load-balancing and for achieving real-time zero-latency, two of the most important deciding factors for data centers handling high data volume applications such as telecom, CORD (Central Office Re-architected as a Datacenter) and Cloud RAN.

This F.A.S.T. solution comes equipped with one Gen 4 PCIe x8 golden finger (with PCIe Gen 4 x8 signal) and integrated LED.
