Lanner Electronics Inc. was incorporated in 1986 and has progressively adopted the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). By forming strong and sustainable relationship with global partners, Lanner aims to create value for all stakeholders. We hereby disclose our sustainability performance in the three aspects (environmental, social and governance; ESG) that are of most concern to our stakeholders
Lanner requires suppliers to sign the AEO Security Declaration, Declaration of Nonuse of Conflict Minerals, the Supplier and Employee Code of Conduct, and the "Supplier Declaration on Non-use of Restricted Substance" promising that all of the products, parts and components it supplies including product accessories, packaging materials and other attachments delivered with the product are in compliance with the EU RoHS and WEEE directives.
The Lanner Cultural Foundation was formally established by Lanner Electronics Inc. in April 2017. The Foundation was officially approved by the Education Department of New Taipei City in the same year. Lanner has continued to grow in revenue, profitability and assets over the 30 years since its creation.
Lanner strives to ensure the environmental friendliness of all business activities and projects. We obtained certification for ISO 14001 environmental management system and IECQ QC 080000 hazardous substance management system.
Lanner believes that an "interesting life" is just as important as "professional achievement." To create a high-quality environment that balances career development with the quality of life, Lanner has drawn up a human resources policy centered around balanced development so that employees can enjoy their work and be satisfied with their lives.
Energy consumption is the main reason behind climate change because the burning of non-renewable fuel produces greenhouse gases (GHGs) and other environmental aspects as well. Energy efficiency is critical to mitigating climate change and we will continue to refine our production processes while reducing the consumption of energy. We are also monitoring our annual water consumption by collecting data on water resource consumption.

Environmental policy and adoption of the RoHS directive The "Restriction of the Use of Hazardous Substance in Electrical and Electronic Equipment" directive or "RoHS" entered into force on July 1 2006. The aim of this directive is to restrict the use of Lead (Pb, 1000ppm), Mercury (Hg, 1000ppm), Cadmium (Cd, 100ppm), Hexavalent Chromium (Cr6+, 1000ppm), Polybrominated biphenyls (PBB, 1000ppm), and Polybrominated diphenyl Ethers (PBDE, 1000ppm) in electrical equipment. The RoHS directive also limits the use of these substances in product packaging to a combined total of 100 ppm.

Lanner's adoption of the RoHS directive and transition to lead free products is a four stage process:
Avoiding Conflict Minerals in the Supply Chain
The U.S. “Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act”(“Section 1502”) and the Electronic Industry Citizenship Coalition (EICC) requires electronic product manufacturers to determine if their products contain conflict minerals. Conflict minerals are metals such as gold (Au), tantalum (Ta), tungsten (W) and tin (Sn) mined and sold by non-government military groups or unlawful military factions of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and its neighboring nations. The exploitation and trade of conflict minerals by armed groups is helping to finance conflict in the DRC region and is contributing to an humanitarian crisis.
As a responsible member of the electronic industry supply chain, Lanner expects our suppliers to comply with EICC related requirements and not use conflict minerals. Lanner has taken steps to try to ensure that our suppliers comply with these expectations. Unfortunately, due to the complexities of the mineral supply chain, we are currently unable to verify the origin for all metals used in our products. We are determined to verify the origin of all metals, so we are currently taking the following steps.
- Lanner will conduct operations in a way that is socially and environmentally responsible.
- Lanner will not purchase any product with proven conflict mineral contents.
- Lanner have requested suppliers to refuse to use conflict minerals from the conflict regions and present a signed letter of commitment to Lanner.
- Lanner have requested suppliers to notify their upstream suppliers of the above requirements.
