By incorporating integration flexibility at every step, the FW-8880 offers the ideal foundation to create your next generation network system.

Based on the Intel® 5100 chipset and comprising Intel’s second-generation Xeon Quad-Core processor, high-performance network computing can be achieved with greater power efficiency. Advanced features for high-performance network computing include multi-core architecture, 1333MHz system bus, 64-bit memory addressing and Intel Virtualization technology.

The optional onboard Cavium Nitrox CN1620 processes high-level IPsec and IKE, IPv6, SSL and Wireless LAN security protocol macro commands, which reduce host I/O traffic and dramatically offload system processes to increase the total system throughput.

Cavium Encryption Engine

With the Cavium Nitrox CN1620 working at 2.5 Gbps of full SSL record throughput, this network processor will quickly and efficiently handle any network security needs.

Customizable Hardware Specifications

Choose from a wealth of customizable features including four removable SATA hard drives, up to 24GB memory, configurable PCI-X or PCI-E expansion slots, as well as a Lannic content inspection accelerator.

Scalable Network Throughput

Increase performance and bandwidth according to your needs with Lanner’s unique modular design, additional modules include extra ethernet ports or a 10Gbps SFP port. 12 GbE ports max.

FW-8890 Compatible

Reduce costs without changing the chassis. Customers using the FW-8890 can easily switch to the FW-8880 yet maintain the same look and feel.
