Constructed around the Intel server-grade 5100 chipset, the FW-8870 is an example of low power consumption and high computing execution in a network appliance. Supporting bleeding-edge Quad-Core Xeon 5400 series processors, the FW-8870 delivers cost-effective performance per Watt.

Along with support for Quad-Core Xeon processers, the Lanner FW-8870 supports DIMM DDR2 (533, 667 MHz) technology together with a front side 1333/1066/800 MHz system bus to provide increased system reliability and scalable performance.

Supporting twelve Ethernet ports via three front facing optional modules, the FW-8870 offers great customization options now and considerable hardware expansion capabilities to meet future needs. Furthermore, Lanner provides full-service product options, building systems and platforms with your business interest in mind.

Multicore Processing

Multi-core Intel Xeon® processors improve processing capacity with less relative power consumption, translating into increased productivity while providing greater thermal management.

Fast Networking IO

PCI-Express bus networking data paths eliminate performance bottlenecks by efficiently handling any large address and data packets that your system may encounter.

Hardware Acceleration

The optional onboard Cavium Nitrox CN1620 processes IPsec and IKE, IPv6, SSL and Wireless LAN security protocol macro commands, which reduce host I/O traffic and dramatically offload system processes to increase total system throughput.
